Mock Draft 2.0

The Detroit Lions are on the clock. Who they choose dictates what everyone else will do. I originally believed they would select Georgia QB Matthew Staford, but I think the views of the front office have changed and they'll begin to build up without taking much risk and grab players with a better chance of success.

1. Detroit Lions: OT, Baylor, Jason Smith
Due to the success of the Miami Dolphins had last year, I think the Lions will go offensive line, and maybe select QB Mark Sanchez or QB Josh Freeman with their 20th overall pick.

2. St. Louis Rams: OT, Virginia, Eugene Monroe
The Rams need offensive line help this is for sure.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: LB, Wake Forest, Aaron Curry
Chiefs are switching to a 3-4 defense: Linebackers needed. How about the best in the draft.

4. Seattle Seahawks: QB, Georgia, Matthew Stafford
Matt Hasselback is kind of frail, right? I think if he's not in the west-coast system he's just a back-up.

5. Cleveland Browns: DE, Texas, Brian Orakpo
NFL teams love players with huge upside. That's exactly what Orakpo has, plus Browns need linebackers and people to stop the run, look at their division.

6. Cincinatti Bengals: DT, Boston College, B.J. Raji
One of the worst offensive and defensive teams in the NFL in '08 and so many needs where do the Bengals go? All the premiere OT are taken and they'd hate to reach for someone. I think they grab Raji to help the defense from the inside out.

7. Oakland Raiders: WR, Texas Tech, Michael Crabtree
Probably the safest pick to predict in the NFL. I was telling people last college season that this guy would end up a Raider while also saying the prior season that Darren McFadden would wind up a Raider. I was right and I'd bet on this one, unless of course Seattle grabs him first.

8. Jacksonville: OT, Oklahoma, Andre Smith OT,
I think the Jags will be happy with the best OT last year in college..

9. Green Bay Packers: RB, Georgia, Knowshon Moreno
When was the last time the Packers had a premier running back? Was it Dorsey Levens? If you can call him that. With so many teams playing two running backs and the top RB available I think they'll snag Moreno and get the best RB in the draft at #9. Moreno possibly would of went higher any other year so the Packers would be glad to feel like they stole something.

10. San Francisco 49ers: Ole Miss, Michael Oher
The Niners have issues at RT, it's time to sure the O-Line up.
