Now imagine that every throw you made was where you wanted to throw it. Not only that, you threw balls that were not straight, some curved and slid. Picture over 30,000 people watching your every move, and nine men with bats trying to hit the ball away from seven friends behind you trying to catch it. Okay, you faced each of the nine men at least three-times. Eleven of those times those guys couldn't even touch the ball and every other time they hit it to one of your friends. Oh yeah, you'd never thrown 110 balls and had just been demoted a month before. Your father was there, too. Which would be no big deal, except of course if this was the first game he had ever seen you pitch. No big deal right?

Well San Francisco Giants' Pitcher Jonathan Sanchez did just that. He threw a no hitter on July 10, 2009. The first one by a Giant since the average home in America was $12K and Gerald Ford was president. He also did this with a rookie catcher behind the plate and on the same team with four all-star pitchers, three Cy Young award winners, the highest paid pitcher, arguably the best left-handed pitcher ever, and the best pitcher right now in baseball. Simple, huh? Congratulations, Jonathan Sanchez.

The Worlds Greatest Icon, Michael Jackson

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; Who they choose dictates what everyone else will do. I originally believed they would select Georgia QB Matthew Staford, but I think the views of the front office have changed and they'll begin to build up without taking much risk and grab players with a better chance of success.

1. Detroit Lions: OT, Baylor, Jason Smith
Due to the success of the Miami Dolphins had last year, I think the Lions will go offensive line, and maybe select QB Mark Sanchez or QB Josh Freeman with their 20th overall pick.

2. St. Louis Rams: OT, Virginia, Eugene Monroe
The Rams need offensive line help this is for sure.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: LB, Wake Forest, Aaron Curry
Chiefs are switching to a 3-4 defense: Linebackers needed. How about the best in the draft.

4. Seattle Seahawks: QB, Georgia, Matthew Stafford
Matt Hasselback is kind of frail, right? I think if he's not in the west-coast system he's just a back-up.

5. Cleveland Browns: DE, Texas, Brian Orakpo
NFL teams love players with huge upside. That's exactly what Orakpo has, plus Browns need linebackers and people to stop the run, look at their division.

6. Cincinatti Bengals: DT, Boston College, B.J. Raji
One of the worst offensive and defensive teams in the NFL in '08 and so many needs where do the Bengals go? All the premiere OT are taken and they'd hate to reach for someone. I think they grab Raji to help the defense from the inside out.

7. Oakland Raiders: WR, Texas Tech, Michael Crabtree
Probably the safest pick to predict in the NFL. I was telling people last college season that this guy would end up a Raider while also saying the prior season that Darren McFadden would wind up a Raider. I was right and I'd bet on this one, unless of course Seattle grabs him first.

8. Jacksonville: OT, Oklahoma, Andre Smith OT,
I think the Jags will be happy with the best OT last year in college..

9. Green Bay Packers: RB, Georgia, Knowshon Moreno
When was the last time the Packers had a premier running back? Was it Dorsey Levens? If you can call him that. With so many teams playing two running backs and the top RB available I think they'll snag Moreno and get the best RB in the draft at #9. Moreno possibly would of went higher any other year so the Packers would be glad to feel like they stole something.

10. San Francisco 49ers: Ole Miss, Michael Oher
The Niners have issues at RT, it's time to sure the O-Line up.

Mock Draft "Draft" 2009 Top 10

The NFL Free Agency has not concluded, however, it is also fun to throw out a Mock Draft "Draft". Of course when teams sign free agents things change obviously. But hey, this is my Mock Draft of the first ten picks. I've done a complete first-round in the past, but I have found that to be a waste and highly inaccurate, as well as, time consuming.

1. Detroit Lions: QB, Georgia, Matthew Stafford.
If the Lions were not as bad as they are, I could see them getting the best linebacker in the draft, Aaron Curry, but there bad and realistically when your that bad you can't get a linebacker.

2. St. Louis Rams: OT, Baylor, Jason Smith
I think the Rams would love to get Curry also, but they chose a defensive end in last years draft and their offensive line suffered for back to back seasons. Not to mention the unit is extremely horrible. An upgrade is dreadfully needed.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: OT, Virginia, Eugene Monroe
Last draft the Chiefs choose offensive guard Branden Albert who also played next to Monroe in Virginia. Monroe was good enough to keep Albert at guard. The Chiefs were extremely happy with Albert so this should be an easy pick. Especially since the Chiefs hired an offensive coordinator as their head coach. Two players of this caliber on the same unit would boost the entire unit, as well as, the entire team.

4. Seattle Seahawks: LB, Wake Forest, Aaron Curry
In last years draft not one single wide receiver was drafted in the first-round and I believe this is a trend that will continue. WR's could be looked at as a dime-a-dozen and a very risky pick, because these guys just don't turn out the way you'd think they would. The Seahawks will wait until later in the draft to fill there most pressing need at WR. Seattle will grab arguably the best player in the draft, Curry, and will be pleasantly surprised.

5. Cleveland Browns: OT, Oklahoma, Andre Smith
The Browns could go numerous directions with this selection. There options could be OT, LB, DL, RB, or DB. I think they'll grab Smith who was considered the best option at OT prior to his combine theatrics. They'll grab Smith to bolster there offensive line achored by franchise players OT Joe Thomas and QB Brady Quinn.

8. Jacksonville: OT, Ole Miss, Michael Oher
Last draft Jacksonville traded up to select a DE and then selected another with their next pick. Not only was everyone surprise it is also still effecting them. How could they select the next best player in this draft DE Brian Orakpo? They can't, it would be foolish. It would certainly show that one of those guys was a bust and would need to go or move to another position. However, I think the Jags will be happy with the fourth best OT in the draft and scoop up Oher.

10. San Francisco 49ers: DE, Texas, Brian Orakpo
Any other year you'd be hard pressed to get the best DE at number 10, but this years odd. The Niners would of loved to get a OT to play the right side opposite of Joe Staley, but all the elite players are gone. I think they'll be extremly happy to get the Hybrid, 515lb. bench pressing, Orakpo and a despirate need at DE or OLB.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nolanthegreat.blogspot.com/2009/02/mock-draft-draft-2009-top-10.html' title='Mock Draft "Draft" Not to form any propeller towards my weird wisdom of knowledge that only I really comprehend. Since I'm trying to keep this as least personal as possible anyone who knows me outside of the "far from 9-5" would guess that it would be football related. And of course they would be, of course, mostly correct.
As the NFL season concluded with the Steelers defeating the Cardinals in amazing fashion, it made me reflect on the season. The Cardinals emerged a great story this year. They went from a doormat of the NFL just around five-seasons ago to reaching the Nations greatest sporting event.
However, the Cardinals were struck with disrespect from all angles of the line of scrimage. The mostly bias media did not disappoint. The media is heavily armed by east-coast supporters. From reporters rooted in the east or transformed and relocated to the east where all sporting events seem to be less than ten-miles apart.
Perhaps, maybe not. Maybe my bias sees an object that is projected only from my own imagination.
Enough of that my loyalty lies with the San Francisco 49ers.
